OK, hang in there. HDMI is not a standard, so they do not HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER.
All I can say is try to turn it all off, make the connection, turn the tv on, then the PC and see if that works. If not, then turn it all off, make the conneciton, turn the PC on, then the tv, and see if that works.
