I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C650 PSC2FU-00V005 that my grand daughter has used for years. Last weekend she returned from her other grand-parents home and turned on her laptop and nothing happened. It seems like the back-lite is trying to illuminate but the screen has this ghost like film overlying it all and the bottom left has flickering that seems to indicate something is trying to come on but cannot. I have removed all the items to include the keyboard and reseated all the connectors to no avail. Do not have a recovery disk for this computer. Any help, please respond.

This looks like a problem with the "backlight" or the "inverter" that powers the backlight. Either problem requires a qualified tech to open up the laptop and replace the components. I suggest you take the laptop to a local repair shop. But, it will probably cost more to fix it than to buy a new laptop.

Good luck
