Hello,
Trying a different subject line this time... at Windows startup, have no Desktop, just black screen with moving cursor. Can access all (including "Desktop" folder) and run programs normally using Task Manager. Have tried everything I can think of short of reinstalling Windows but cannot figure out how to resurrect my Desktop screen.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Try this one.
1) UNPLUG THE LAPTOP
2) REMOVE THE BATTERY
3) HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO 2 MINUTES
4) THEN PUT THE BATTERY BACK IN
5) START IT UP..
Good luck!
