mine is a windows 8 software.my question is i can hear sound through my speakers but when i plugin my headphones i cannot hear sound through them.what can be the reason for this problem?

One reson, would be that the audio jack connection has not been extended to that port. That would be one reason.

when i plug in am supposed to get a dialouge box on my screen but the issue is that dialouge box isn't appearing on my screen.

it's not USB connection..it is the connection for audio jack
