Hi friends my hp pavilion dv4 isn't working fine. The problem is it gives a black display as soon as i open it.The laptop runs fine it gives display when i connect it to the external monitor. What might be the problem..... I have no idea...

Your back lights or invertor may be defective. Only a qualified hands on technician can see to this type of issue.
