My hard drive wont detect

Hello,

my laptop wont detect my hard drive i just got i have a Fujitsu laptop its only got a 20gb hdd in and im going to put a 500gb in but when i do its just comes up with and error about a reatlek error and then says no operating systems so i tryed installing windows xp of the disk then i get a blue screen about the hard drive with errors and the hard drive is supposed to work can anyone help me i would be most grateful....

Your going to need the help of a computer geek or a local repair shop.

Sometimes an old laptop will not work with a large hard disk. It can be either a BIOS or a hardware problem.

Fujitsu laptop a model number , would be helpful .what did you have running on it?
