Vista Wireless Not WorkingClosed

Question

Hello,
I have tryed and tryed over and over again and I cant seem to figure it out!!!
Me and My friend wanted to set up a wierless net work we both have Vista Basic laptops and we both have tryed setting up an ad hoc (computer-to-computer) numerous times but unable to recive info. We detect each other but thats all it does whats the matter? 

We've even set up IP addresses and try other suggestions to the dot and still nothing.... Cna any one help!? PLZ

Is there not a file sharing function with vista? I think theres just a file sharing option you can enable

Well it did have the option where it took me to my firewall to enable file sharing

well you should try that, i have file shared in work with my coworkers vista that way but it depends what you want to do i suppose, we were actually just exchanging files so it was perfect
