Need assistance with black screen

i have a latitude D600 dell laptop and It Constantly goes to a black screen after I Reach the Startup screen,

i have removed the battery and held down the power button for 2 and 1/2 mins then put battery back in and powered up hoping to fix this, It did not work for me

please Tell me IF you have any suggestions or ideas...

Try cleaning the Memory card.
