Hi,

I have forgotten my password to an old laptop with windows XP

I have tried to change the password by hitting F8 and going into safe mode, this brings up an administrator account, but that is still asking for a password.

Will I have to reinstall Windows XP

Reinstalling Windows would be you best bet if you have the original CD's and key.
