To get audio out from laptop when connecting to a monitor

Hello,

I have a Acer monitor with no built-in speakers, so there is no audio output. Therefore, when connecting my Laptop to the monitor using HDMI, there is no sound. I don't know how to take the audio out from my laptop to connect to another speakers ? Please help me

Hang n there.

Do yu hae a sound device listed in hardware manager? If there is no speakers, no output jack, then I would guess that there is no sound device.

Let us know if you see a device in hardware manager.

Oh I managed to set my laptop as a default sound output in control panel, so now my monitor is the video output and my laptop is sound output. Thank you for the commenting.
