Hello,
the messaging App cannot be deleted as it is a system app.
try swiping down from the top and doing a search.

you cannot delete the preinstalled messaging app or hide it.
hold the power button and the lock button until the phone restarts twice.
release after the second reboot.

I have managed to solve this problem. I went to the "Application Manager" via settings and then clicked "all" submenu. The required icon was present and subsequently initiated.
