Dell Hardware and Recoverys help center problem

Hello,

OK, so I tried to access the help center and was asked what to open it with. I picked my Microsoft Word Program. Big mistake. Now it will only open in Word and none of the links work.
I have tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. This time I was offered no choice of program and it just opened in Work and naturally the links still don't work. Is there any way around this? If not does anyone know of a good free backup and recovery program?
I am sooo frustrated.
