Please help? :( Ipod Classic not playing music

Hello!
So I have a pretty ancient Ipod classic 80 GB I've had for about 6 years which was working fine until couple of weeks ago it stopped playing any music whatsoever. It shows on top that it's playing the song is not playing at all. You can skip forward but it will only show the seconds forwarded but still continue to not play the songs. I tried plugging it to iTunes, the same thing happens, I even tried putting new files to see if just files inside are corrupted or whatnot but even the new files are acting the same.
Someone please help? :'( I've had 6yrs worth of music in their and I really don't want to lose them! :(

P.S. I've also tried charging, restarting but nothing worked! :(

You should have a backup if you synced with iTunes on a PC.
