Awhile ago my laptop was slowly dying and i decided to transfer all my important folders into a Sandisk USB, the folders were within folders and when i open up the USB on my PC to use it and i try to open the folder i get a pop-up telling me "the drive or network connection that shortcut "folder.lnk refers to is unavailable..." Please explain to me how i can fix this? I can't get any of my stuff back from the old laptop because it has been completely wiped out and was resold. I know there is a solution out there for this.

Try this 1

Check if the files are not in hidden mode.

Click on "Start" -->Run --> Type cmd and press Enter.

Here I assume your pendrive drive letter as G:

Enter this command.

attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.* --> Press Enter

You can copy the above command --> Right-click in the Command Prompt and

paste it.

Note : Replace the letter g with your pen drive letter.

Now check your pen drive for the files.
