You need to format using FAT32.
In Windows 7
right click on Computer
select Manage
select Disk Management
Find the new drive and right click on it
Select Format
Good Luck
In Windows 7

Hi,
If I were you, I would check with the manufacturer if the drive is hardware encrypted. If it is, it is highly unlikely to access the drive and use it normally in any device, different from the original. Before any other formatting attempts, I would check that.
