Hi there,

I need some more details in order to assist you properly. Could you tell me the model of your drive and if you can see it in Device Manager and Disk Management? If it is in Device Manager, uninstall the drive's drivers and restart the PC. Plug in the drive and the drivers should be reinstalled automatically. Check if there is any change. I would advise you to try the device on another PC and with another USB cable.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Thanks for coming back to me. i dont see it in Device Manager and Disk Management. i have tried it on 3 different PC's. The only details that i have which are on the back of the hard drive is P/N WDBU6Y0020BBK - 05 S/N: WX21EC3PT920 (WD ELEMENTS). It used to work fine and should pick up on my PC and just stopped. Is there anything else that i could try.

Can you feel the drive spinning? Check with another USB cable.
Unfortunately, the drive may have failed. Do you have any valuable information on it? If it is still under warranty, I would contact the reseller and get a replacement. I leave you link below, where you can check the warranty. If you have some valuable data stored on the drive, I would suggest you to try using a Linux Live CD. Some users confirm that you may get enough access to be able to copy your files.
One important note: that S/N number is your private serial number and you should not post it in public forums, because it contains information about your product and warranty conditions.
