I was almost at the end of composing a long and important text message when it suddenly disappeared. I have no idea why but more importantly, no idea how to restore the text message. My phone is a Model A 1387 I phone iPhone S

For iphones, I've been through 3 phones and this issue continued. Got obsessed one night to fix it - turn on icloud and have messages included. Blammo - 4 year old issue fixed.
