Hi
I have an HP Pavilion dvc6000 laptop with windows 7 ultimate installed. I was watching a movie and suddenly my laptop screen went off but i could still hear the sound of the movie. Then after a while the laptop went off. I tried to restart again but couldn't. So i plugged my charger and tried to start again. This time it started upto boot and went off. And again automatically restarted and the cycle kept going. I tried pressing f11 for system restore but nothing happens. Windows doesn't even start. Please help.
Thanks in advance.

It's probably a hardware fault. These HP laptops have a long history of failure of the video chip. A fix requires replacement of the motherboard. Which costs more than a NEW laptop.

Good Luck

Does it work in safe mode? try repeatedly pressing the [F8] key just after you power it on. If the menu comes up select "Safe Mode" with the arrow keys and press enter.

let me know how you get on.

Sorry, but it looks like xpcman is right - time for a new PC.
