Hi Alex,
The obvious answer is to install an anti-virus program.
It is never possible to protect against all viruses - for example, if I were to write one and release it today no anti-virus program would find it because the "antidote" would not be known to the anti-virus program. Only after it has been reported to the research teams would an antidote be made. Thus, no anti-virus is 100% effective.
There are several free anti-virus programs out there which are good enough for most purposes, but the pay-foe ones provide a few extra bells and whistles and cover more sources if infection. |Take a look at the review sites to see which best suits your needs.
Never be tempted to install more than one anti-virus at a time. It lets viruses in rather than giving double protection.
I really appreciate thank you messages as a payment for solving issues :o)

Thanks Computech,
Personally I use Avast at the moment.
I also use AVG or Avira (not at the same time), depending on what the reviews say is the best at the time. Each have their strengths and weaknesses.
Dont get tempted to use the ones that offer free scans and find about 100+ problems and you then have to pay for the fix. Some of these dont fix anything and ask for more money later on.

Mr. Brian is right avast antivirus application is a best way to protect computer or laptop against virus attack. I also used ccleaner for fixing some virus from my device before trying Avast. Now I am pretty sure about both ccleaner and Avast antivirus program its good applications for removing virus or cookies from computer
