Hello Allison,
One other method that just may work (maybe) is to use the System Restore:-
- Click on the Start button.
- Click on All Programs.
- Select Accessories.
- Select System Tools.
- Select System Restore.
The System Restore dialogue Box will open. Follow all instructions from there. Through the process, it will ask you to select a date BEFORE the "crash". I would suggest that you select one a couple of days before the "crash". Follow the prompts through to the end. It should only take a couple of minutes.
I've done it a few times over the years and it has worked 100% but then again, I've never had to deal with corrupt files either.
So, maybe.............................
