Hello, I have a Gateway NV53A. I was having blue screen issues, so decided to re-install from my CDs. I put the first of 3 CDs in the drive, but nothing happened. I decided to put a DVD (movie) in to see if it would play and I got a message that I did not have a DVD/CD player.
How can I get the computer to recognize the DVD/CD player?

did you boot into recovery mode?
if not check your computer's BIOS settings to boot from CD-DVD
if you are using a USB drive you should also enable that from BIOS settings.
