Gmail isn't helping. I need to find my password

Hello, I need to find out my account password. I typed in my email address. Now it says i need to contact my IT administrator? How in the world can I do that. Can't they just send me a password reset link to my email. Nobody knows my password for my email. This is my case. I have a gaggle email account. I used that exact email to sign in to drive. I changed the password for drive, but not my actual email. I wish they could just send it to an alternate email address. Can anybody help me? Anybody that can tell me my password. i have a project due and I am going to be dead if I don't turn it in. I know that drive can do this and knows my password but I can't get it to tell me my password. PLEASE. I am begging people. Can anybody help me?
