My desktop is gone!!!

Hello, For the past months I have had to run my computer just through the task manager i have read the tips to do like the programs to install and I have tried to run exploer.exe but every time i look for it it tells me that it cannot be located and to look on the start button because of this problem i can't put my pics on my computer or update my computer what can I do please help!!!!!!!!!

I would do a Windows repair/install if you want to recover data from the hard drive. see this link for info:

The best bet is to do a full Windows install that wipes your drive clean.
