Laptop screen won't turn on

Hello,
I put my HP dv7-316 to sleep yesterday and when I came back to turn it on the screen won't turn on, hooked it up to av external monitor and still nothing

I suggest you try the "hard reboot' process

1. remove the laptop battery and disconnect the power cord/charger
2. press and hold down the power switch button for 45 seconds
3. reconnect the battery and power cord
4. restart as normal
