The Reader app is a free app developed by Microsoft for Windows 8 and 8.1 and it is included in both operating systems. Unfortunately it doesn't have a tile on the Start screen and most users do not know about its existence. That's why we have decided to write this tutorial and show how to use it to view PDF or XPS documents or TIFF files. You don't need to install third-party apps to read PDF files in Windows 8.1
