To resolve the problem, try these steps:
1. Check for crumbs
2. Reboot your computer
If these cannot resolve the problem, go to Device Manager and see if there is problem with the driver. If the keyboard line item has a yellow exclamation point next to it and if the keyboard icon doesn't show up at all, then you need to update the driver.
