Why is my usb pen drive showing red.

Hi all,
I have a usb pendrive/stick that when I plug it into the usb on my laptop it only shows red where the information should.
Could enlighten me on why is that?

Hi Bushie199,

Could you give us some more details? What do you mean, it is showing red, does the drive appear full? It could be helpful, if you attach a screenshot. I strongly recommend you to check the pen drive on another PC. If you have no valuable data on the drive, format it and check it again.

Many thanks for your response.
Right now, although I've scanned the disk and got no threats, I'm still reluctant to plug it back in.
It's full of files, I know this because I opened one. When it was plugged in the area for the information was completely red and not blue and with description as normally seen.

P.S. That usb drive does not seem to be working now.

Could you check in Disk Management if the pen drive has a drive letter and a file format. Since you were able to open a file, the device may be working properly. You are saying the drive is not working now. Is it still recognized or it is not possible to access the data? Do you have valuable data on the drive?
