My compaq presario cq57 on windows 7 now fails to recognize the password i have been using for 9 years! It won't let me reset the password without a floppy disk or usb drive???? I have no idea why that is? How does one normally get in to reset the password or do i need to reinstall windows 7?

Make sure your keyboard is working fine. may you are are typing the correct password but there could be some problem with keyboard that is why you are having such kind of problem.
otherwise you can use ERD commander to reset your password.

We are terribly sorry but CCM cannot help you to recover your lost password, because you can't prove that you are the legitimate owner. . Everyday computers are stolen, although you may be honest, we do not wish to help potential criminals.
