"SIMS 3 STOPPED WORKING" Keep happening.

Hello,

So I've been having this problem for a few days now. The game loads up normally. I go into my town, start playing my latest family then after like 5 minutes (sometimes less) the screen goes black and says "Sims 3 stopped working" and to close the program.

Funny enough, my original family, I can play them for a long time without any problems but then when I try to go to edit town and I proceed to start editing an empty apartment, it gives me that message after 30 seconds and closes down as well.

I do have custom content but the game was running fine with it up to a few days ago. Also uninstalling would suck because I have all the expansion packs and I couldn't tell you where half of them are anymore (I've had the game for awhile).

By the way, I have a HP Laptop running with Windows 8.
