Refer only one column from named range

Hello everyone and thanks in advance!
I have a report in excel 2010. In that i created a named range as "nmerng" which refers two columns say(A:B). I'm wondering is it possible to refer values only from column "A". Does any one have idea to solve this?

Hi Maya,
Not sure what the issue is.
You created a named range for column A:B. And now you want to create a named range for column A. Since you can have a named range for both A:B and A, what is stopping you?
