Mount Android phone

Afternoon:

I don't know why a "moderator" removed my post? Said it was irrelevant??? So, how does one mount a Samsung GalaxyS? I need to have a computer recognize the phone so I can upgrade the O.S. I've tried x times to get any comp to 'recognize" this phone and have not met with success. Could someone explain what must be done? phone specs: Samsung Anycall GalaxyS 1 model shw-m110s running Froyo 2.2 and 'rooted".
