Hello, I bought a new laptop about 8 months ago and bought a windows vista ultimate upgrade cd. The laptop fell on cement and had to be replaced. The replacement came with a 64 bit instead of the 32 bit. When I try to install the update I get an error message. Is there anything that Microsoft had done to allow it to work?

the new one is in 64 bit, this is why the upgrade CD is not working.

So I guess that means I need to spend a few hundred dollars on a 64 bit upgrade cd. I hate to see the 32 bit upgrade cd / money spent, go to waste after less than 9 months use of it. Oh well, thanks for the reply
