Hey there, jampaz.
What exactly do you mean by "unlocking" the USB device. Are you talking about an encrypted device or a flash drive, which has become write protected? Do you have any data which you need to recover?
If it's a write protected pen drive you could try out this tutorial to see if it helps you with the problem: https://ccm.net/faq/4214-how-to-disable-write-protection-on-a-usb-key If you don't have any data to recover from that device, you could also try reformatting it with another computer, to see if the same thing happens. Other than that, you could try using the USB flash drive manufacturer's format tool to format the pen drive and see if that fixes things up. Hope that helps.
