I have accidentally deleted something and i can no longer connect to the internet. In control panel/internet connections no connections are showing.
Would appreciate some assistance. Thanks

Yes tried that. I also tried a number of other things but it appears that there is a winsock virus so I have downloaded (on another computer) a winsock fix utility and i hope that this will fix the problem. With my son's assistance we manged to connect the computer to the internet via wifi but still could not connect to the internet.
If you have any other ideas i am listening!

The winsock fix utility (Winsock and TCP repair utility) gives me the message - Registry import information no found.
My previous post was a little ambiguous. the computer shows that there is a wifi connection but I still cannot connect to the internet via google chrome or any other search engine.

After searching the internet I have found a solution and I am now connected to the internet with a wifi dongle. I am now working to get my lan connection back.
I think my problem can be marked as solved.
