Hello,
I have been building this computer for the last few days. I get everything plugged in and turn it on, within 30 secs a light pops up that says CPU hot and then it turns off. I have a stock intel fan, quad core intel socket 775 CPU.

I would check the CPU heatsink to make sure it is correctly seated. If you twisted the mounting posts before or during installation one or more of the posts may not be locking correctly. You might check the Motherboard manual or the Intel instruction book for a picture of the correct post orientation. The slots in the top of the posts should point towards the fan and you should hear and feel a click when you press down.
Good Luck
