Dell inspiron screen doesn't work

Hello, i have a dell Inspiron laptop (with the pink top-yuk) but i have had it for so long that the screen has come apart from the main body, i built a crib for the main body and screen to sit in, but recently i stumbled and dropped it about a foot, and the screen doesn't work now, i cannot seem to find any broken wires. how can i transfer the video to tv ? i bought an HDMI to RCA output wire but it doesn't work, and i tried an old computer monitor and that doesn't work either but i can see glimpses of stuff happening on the original laptop screen, anyone have an idea of how to fix this or a work around ? i plan on buying an old dell laptop to switch the hard drive to but that is not going to happen anytime soon.
