Can I do without WiFi?

I have an Androd phone from Verizon. I am grandfathered in on an unlimited data plan. Do I therefore not use or need WiFi? I don't understand how it works and therefore what I am missing by not using hotspots. Is WiFi some extra connection that people pay for?

Use WIFI, because unlimited just means they will not throttle you until you reach your limits. If you use wifi, this usage doe not go against your DATA limits. Unlimited does mean unlimited speeds, it means unlimited access!
