Can not open gmail account

Hello,
I am trying to open my gmail account on Outlook 2016. I keep getting various areas to check, such as security, etc. When I open gmail on Outlook 2016, I don't have the commands: to add group email, add folders, etc.. Although I can read and send emails in gmail, it looks different from what the gmail opening page once you sign in.
