Hi Shanthini Ravichandran,
Could you clarify one thing; your laptop is not supporting any pendrive or just a specific one? Please open Device Manager and check if there is a driver issue with the USB Hub. Please open the laptop manufacturer’s web page and search for a controller package for your laptop’s model. Try to install those drivers that are marked in Device Manager. Is this a new laptop or you have been using it without any problems in the past?
Hope this helps
