Fn key not working properly in my ACER travelmate

The function key is putting me into troubles as it is not working properly. Due to the key sometimes the pc hangs and then i had to press Fn key again . The keyboard is also not working due to fn key. when i press a button , the input goes as if i had pressed the fn key,. some keys are also not working
