How do I highlight a cell or row when another cell contains anything?

Thanks!

Klor, Good morning.

Your request is very superficial.
Missing data to help you effectively.

Suppose you want color cells B1:F1, IF A1 is not empty.

Try to do:

Select cells you want color: B1:F1

CF MENU --> NEW RULE --> USING FORMULA

Type it at field: =$A$1<>""

Choose ORANGE as fill format
OK

Please, tell us if it works for you.
