Gateway dead one day, good the next

Hello,
I've noticed this problem is with a lot of gateway laptops. I'm also thinking this has something to do with Windows 10 and sleep mode. I've tried pulling the battery in the power that does work once in a while but not consistently. Today I came home and i've tried pulling the battery in the power that does work once in a while but not consistently today I came home after finding it dead yet again yesterday and it fired right up no problems it fired right up. Yesterday, nothing.
It powers on, but the HD never gets to tags to boot up.
I'm thinking that want to laptop goes to sleep this how this problem starts. what I'm going to try doing is shutting it down completely when I'm done with it and seeing if it fires up the next morning.
