Hello, I am to setup a lan station with windows7 operating system, i notice that once an attempt is made the to remote workstation on the network, operating system demand for network username and password. how can this challenge be resolved?

OK, so you have to create a login on the remote computer that you are attempting to connect to. Stay with me, this can be confusing.
We have two computers, both in the same workgroup, and network subnet. On computer one (we will call this one PEESEEOne), make a user name of connector. Assign a password to that user. Now on computer two (we will call this one PEESEETwo) Make a user on this one called connector, assign it with the same password as the user on PEESEEOne.
Get on PEESEEOne, and try to connect to PEESEETwo, when it prompts for a username type in "PEESEETwo/connector" and the password you created. Let us know if you get stuck!
