VPN won't let me open my Jabber, or my outlook

Hello,

I am trying to do work at home from my job via VPN, which I have been doing since yesterday and it was working just fine until I logged off. I have logged in, connected to my hotspot, and connected to my VPN, but now it won't pull up anything on my desktop, won't let me open my Jabber, or my outlook. I have a PO spreadsheet that I have to have up while doing my work because it's running a script and has macros running, but it wont let that pull up neither. Do you know what the issues could possibly be?
