Remove anti virus

Hello,

i have installed numerous anti virus and firewalls in the past removed them by uninstalling them. now when i check the antivirus and firewall on my computer these programs still shows up either "off" ,"on" or out off date how can i remove them from showing up in my list of protection. thanks

hi stephen,,,yes go in control panel and follow the instruction above,,,,but why u are removing it????

Try the above link from symantec anti virus, you do not need to have this software but if you download and run it (do not select to save, select run this will remove the virus. if you have to then download trial version of symantec nt virus.

hi stephen08,you must go in the control panel and enter in add/remove and then select the anti virus that u want to remove and just remove it,,,,simple as that dear;-)

I wish it was as easy as that....I had downloaded Kapersky Anti Virus..& it discontinued working completely...one minute it would say I was protected...withing 2 minutes it would say I wasn't...this went on & on all day long,
so I went to Control panel and Add remove programs & indicated to remove it...it showed it did BUT it did not really as it still showed at the bottom of my desktop saying I needed to click onto it to renew my protection as I was no longer protected.................that means it is still within my system somehow....so how do you remove that???
