Hi there Nat,
Has anything happened prior to the error? Was there any power outage in your area recently while the laptop was switched on? The first thing that pops up in my mind is to pull out the battery and power cord.
Then, press the power button for about a minute in order to make the electricity discharge from the motherboard of the lappy. After that plug the battery and the cable back and try to boot the portable PC.
Let me know what happened.
