No Video No Keyboard

I have an Asrock N68-GS4 FX that has been working for over a year.
A few days ago it would not start at times. Now it powers on but with NO Video
and the Keyboard lights do not turn on. The mouse does have power.
I unplugged everything and still no video

No Beeping? Take out all of the RAM, and try to boot. Does it beep? If not, then it isn't POSTing, and the MB is bad!

Without the RAM I get 3 long beeps !

OK, so now, insert 1 ram stick, and boot. Does it boot? Yes, then shut it down, take out that stickset it aside, and place the other stick IN THE SAME SLOT as the last one (that should be removed at this point!) Boot. Does it boot? If yes, then the second slot in the board is bad.

Thank you...

I took apart everything and reassembled
I found the auxiliary fan in the case was connected
but not working......it may have been drawing current
so I disconnected it.


Everything works now !

Dis you take the CPU out? If so, did you re-apply paste? I encourage you to apply fresh paste if you did remove it! Use the Silver kind, not the cheap white stuff!

My keyboard doesn't have ALT key, instead has Option Key??
