Hey there Baba,

There are some data recovery programs that could do the job. You could search for them over the Internet. Some of them are paid and others are free. Look and see if you can find anything which will be suitable.
If they don't help you, then you could try to access the data using Linux Live USB / CD. Within the Ubuntu forum you can see the steps how to make a bootable flash. Once you have downloaded the .iso file, change the boot priority on the computer where the HDD is placed. It is done through the BIOS and you must change the boot priority to be from USB ports and not the HDD. When it boots from the PC, you have to click on try option and not on the option to install the OS.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
What problem are you facing with your drive? If everything fine then you can connect your hard disk to the system and take backup.

If your hard drive is not detecting, then you can check it by connecting to another device. Take the back up immediately if hard drive detected.

Otherwise, check the problem in a hard drive it can be the logical or physical failure. If there is the logical failure, then you can recover data with the help of software.

And in the case of physical hard drive failure, you have no option except opting data recovery service.

Recovery of hard drive:

1.
Stop using your computer now. If your disc drive is still spinning but you are encountering performance problems, it is best to stop the disc drive from running as soon as possible. Once you've got turned off your computer, do not flip it on once more till you'll take it to an expert repair service.
If you are worried regarding an external hard drive malfunctioning, you'll simply disconnect it from your computer.

2.
Try plugging your hard drive into a special port or laptop. If you'll get your disc drive to figure on a computer apart from the one in which it presently resides, the problem is not necessarily with the disc drive itself--it's with the cables or the ports on your laptop.
If you are using an external hard drive, this is often as simple as unplugging it from your laptop and plugging it into a special one. you will conjointly need to do a replacement cable in case the recent one is malfunctioning.
Internal onerous drives gift a a lot of complicated problem. so as to diagnose your internal onerous drive's connection health, you will initial got to take away the drive from your laptop. when doing thus, you'll buy a tough drive moorage station or a USB cable convertor (Amazon sells both) that allows you to attach your external disc drive to another computer.
Before removing a tough drive, make certain your laptop is unplugged and also the battery is disconnected (if applicable).
Removing a tough drive is an incredibly tough task on a waterproof. If you intend to try and do thus anyway, proceed with caution.
In rare cases, a tough drive failing to figure on your specific laptop (but functioning on others) will be symptomatic of a failing motherboard. If you'll get your disc drive running on any laptop apart from your own, you ought to take your laptop into a school company somewhere to induce it checked out.

3.
Know the different elements of a tough drive. onerous drives have 3 distinct components that are probably to cause a drive failure if they malfunction:[1]
PCB - The circuit board (usually on very cheap of your onerous drive) controls most of your onerous drive's functions, still as translating disc drive data into clear data. Circuit boards are typically green.
Platters - skinny disks that store data. Platters are to blame for most of the noise you hear once your disc drive starts up. Unless you are a professional with access to a white room and also the necessary equipment, you will not be ready to fix your onerous drive's platters on your own.
Head Assembly - the pinnacle assembly is what reads the information off of the platters. Again, you will not be ready to repair the pinnacle assembly while not professional-grade expertise and equipment.

4.
Assess the sounds your drive was making. looking on what's wrong with it, your hard drive can confirm sounds. take care to acknowledgment your onerous drive's model with the sound it's creating to ensure an correct designation.
For example: if your disc drive was creating a clicking noise, it most likely has a problem with the head assembly.[2]
Unfortunately, most issues that are diagnosable by the sound they cause can want skilled care.

5.
Refrain from using do-it-yourself fast fixes. These include things like freezing your hard drive or applying force to that. whereas some users could report success from these ways, performing a short fix on your hard drive is bound to make successful knowledge recovery from a professional service even less likely than it already was.
Even if you'll get a fast fix to figure, the effects are typically short. Your hard drive can still end up dying.

Hard Drive data Recovery

It may be possible on a degrading drive to successfully run data recovery software and retrieve data. consideration should but be to recovery techniques which can minimize drive access, as an example, and MFT recovery rather than a block scan of the whole drive. it may also be prudent to try to acquire a sector by sector disk image of the matter media.

In more serious cases it's necessary to send the drive a hard drive data recovery service. Hardware data recovery may be a more expensive path as technicians may need to disassemble the drive to recover the data. drive data recovery is usually worn out a 'clean room' as onerous drives area unit sealed to avoid errors caused by mud or other particles. hard drives area unit finely tuned machinery and it takes specialist equipment to scan the platters from a physically damaged drive.

If you're sending your drive to a data recovery specialist then you must attempt to obtain an upfront estimate of fees (although you may seldom get one), raise that if you send your drive for quotation purposes can they send it back to you within the same condition if you select to not use the service, and ensure you send it to a reputable company as you'll solely get one chance at drive data recovery.
