Laptop not responding even after removing battery

Hello,
I have an hp laptop that after charging for the night would not respond. I removed it from the adapter, pulled the battery out for about 5 minutes and the only response I'm getting is 3 short flashes from the power adaptor plug. No fan, no flashing white button, nothing. Now what? I am not very tech-savvy and in desperate need. Help!

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.
