Can't add more files to SanDisk Clip Sport from iTunes

I was adding albums from iTunes to my new SanDisk Clip Sport Plus feeling fat, dumb & happy when all of a sudden I couldn't add anymore.

I checked the player, it's got plenty of space.

I restarted the MacBook Pro I'm using to see if that would help, but no.

Can someone explain what the heck is going on? And how I can fix it?

So how big is the drive, and how much data are you trying to store on it? We cannot guess what the issue is, but would rather [k]now the facts. Edit for spelling.

It has 15061 MB of space and I've used 3996 MB.
